SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — For the second time this season, a pair of Gaels Softball players swept the WCC Weekly Awards, as freshman infielder earned WCC Player of the Week, while freshman pitcher Mia Nishikawa earned WCC Pitcher of the Week. The Gaels also swept the weekly awards on February 12, when Nishikawa and Tori Cervantes won Pitcher and Player of the Week respectively. The award was the second for both Buckley and Nishikawa.
Nishikawa picked up three of the Gaels five wins in the circle this week. She tossed two complete games against Iowa and North Dakota State, shutting out the latter in her third complete game shutout effort.
